Day 1

Route : Airport to Negombo

Meal Type :BB

  • Meet and Greet at the Airport

  • Proceed to Negombo

  • Check in at Hotel, relax and recover from your flight.

  • Overnight at Hotel in Negombo

Day 2

Route : Negombo to Dambulla/Sigiriya

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Proceed to Dambulla/Sigiriya – two UNESCO World Heritage Sites

  • En route visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, home to approx. 60 elephants. Watch the baby elephants play and bathe in the river; watch them being fed

  • Reach Dambulla and check in at Hotel

  • Evening climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress enjoying magnificent views, visit the Frescoes inside the fortress and be marveled by the wonder of this ancient “cloud swept city”. Sigiriya (The Lion Rock), also known as the ‘Palace and Fortress in the sky’, was built by King Kassapa (477 – 495 AD). Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rising 200 meters vertically from the flat pains, Sigiriya Rock provides you with one of the most dramatic sites in Sri Lanka.

Day 3

Route : Dambulla/ Sigiriya

  • Breakfast at hotel

  • Visit to Hiriwadunna Village & Bullock cart & boat ride to experience the natural village life -a journey through dense shrub forest to encounter farmer’s lifestyle & hospitality

  • Evening Safari at Minneriya National Park

  • The Minneriya/Kaudulla National Park includes a 249 square km reservoir, built by King Mahasen about 15 centuries ago.

  • You may also see spotted deer, sambur, and dozens of species of birds.

  • Overnight at Hotel in Dambulla/Sigiriya

 

Day 4

Route : Dambulla/ Sigiriya to Trincomalee

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Excursion to Polonnaruwa, the other ancient city in Sri-Lanka’s so called “Cultural Triangle”. The awe inspiring architecture, rock carvings and murals of this ancient kingdom is reflective of its intriguing history. Notable sites include The Citadel, which are the remains of the Royal Palace, The Quadrangle of temples and shrines.

  • Visit to Polonnaruwa Museum

  • Proceed to Trincomalee

  • Check in at hotel and relax at leisure and enjoy beach

  • Overnight at hotel in Trincomalee

 

Day 5

Route : Trincomalee

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at hotel

  • Relax and Enjoy Beach. Sightseeing visits to following locations

    • Trincomalee Harbour

    • Visit Lover Sleep

    • Visit to Koneswaram Hindu Kovil

-It is also known as the temple of thousand pillars. The primary deity worshipped here is Lord Shiva in the form of Konesar.

-During the conflicts between the Portuguese and Dutch, the original kovil which is over 2000 years was destroyed.

  • Whale watching in Trincomalee (Optional- US$ 40 per person)

  • Whale watching Eastern coast season in Sri Lanka is from May to Oct, Trincomalee, 257km East of Colombo has become one of the largest animal to inhabit earth. With resident and migratory colonies being spotted off the island’s south west coast, Sri Lanka is fast becoming a top spot to watch Blue Whales, Sperm Whales and Dolphins.

Day 6

Route : Trincomalee to Pasikuda

  • Proceed to Pasikuda

  • Pasikuda beach, recognized as one of safest beaches in Sri lanka, the sea is visualized with crystal clear water.

  • Especially Pasikudha beach is appropriate for the beginners in water surfing. Surfing the waves, pulling off cool techniques, jumping high off the wave and spinning in the air are attractive.

Day 07 – 08

Route : Pasikuda

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Whole day relax and enjoy the beach – probably the best beach in Sri Lanka

Day 9

Route : Pasikuda to Kandy

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at hotel

  • Proceed to Kandy via Dambulla

  • Visit Dambulla cave temple, The Dambulla Rock Temple had first been constructed during the rein of King Vattagamini Abhaya (103 BC and 89-77 BC). The Sinhalese often call him as King Valagamba.

  • Thereafter proceed to Kandy with a Stop at a spice garden-route to witness how the traditional spices are grown (in Matale)

  • Late afternoon reach Kandy, known to be the center for the Arts in Sri-Lanka

  • Shopping in Kandy

  • Attend a Folklore show with Kandyan dancers and drummers, fire-walk performances , in the evening

  • Overnight at Hotel in Kandy

 

Day 10

Route : Kandy

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Visit Kandy tooth relic temple, historical records suggest that Kandy was first established by the King Wickramabahu (1357-1374 CE) near the Watapuluwa area, north of the present city, and it was named Senkadagalapura at the time, although some scholars suggest the name ‘Katubulu Nuwara’ may also have been used. Visit Kandy Tooth Relic Temple, the Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a temple in the city of Kandy in Sri Lanka.

  • Visit to Peradeniya Botanical Gardens – one of the finest in Asia, which dates back to the 14th century

  • Late afternoon reach Kandy, known to be the center for the Arts in Sri-Lanka

  • Take a stroll or drive along the Kandy lake and Upper Lake Drive enjoying breath taking views of the country’s Hill Capitol

  • Visit the Kandy National Museum (Optional)

  • Shopping in Kandy – known for exotic arts and crafts and world famous gem stones

  • Overnight at Hotel in Kandy

 

Day 11

Route : Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Journey up through the hills, passing waterfalls (Ramboda Falls), pine and eucalyptus forests and vast green tea estates. Many optional photo stops en-route.

  • Visit a tea factory, where you will not only enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea but will also have the opportunity to witness the intricacies involved in its manufacturing process.

  • By late afternoon, reach Nuwara Eliya, the “city above the clouds” at 1980m above sea level. A golf course, race course for horse racing, English country style cottages and planters’ bungalows are all witnesses of its colonial past.

Day 12

Route : Nuwara Eliya

Meal Type :BB

  • After an early breakfast at hotel leave for Horton Plains, the highest plateau in the country. It is one of the very important National parks in Sri Lanka especially for its topographical variations.

  • It has unique vegetation and is famous for many rare and endemic highland birds. The most awesome physical feature of the Horton Plains is the escarpment that falls 880 meters to the lowlands of the southern region of the island. Aptly known as the ‘World’s End’ the view from the precipice of the countryside below towards the south coast is spectacular.

  • Dawn or early morning is the best time for observing it. On completion, back to Nuwara Eliya

Day 13

Route : Nuwara Eliya to Colombo

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Proceed to Colombo Via Kithulgala

  • Engage with adventure activities in Kitulgala area (Optional)

  • Inside the jungles of Kitulgala there are plenty of camping opportunities which can be coupled with White Water Rafting, Bird Watching, Jungle Walks, River bathing and many adventure activities.

  • Overnight at Hotel in Colombo

 

Day 14

Route : Colombo to Airport

Meal Type :BB

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • City tour of Colombo commencing with a visit to the Fort and the Pettah commercial hub with offices and shopping areas located amidst oldest colonial hotel GOH. It has a fantastic view of the Colombo harbor, lighthouse with clock tower (older than Big Ben in London) close to the president’s house and old parliament. Afterwards, proceed through the main street passing the old Dutch Museum, belfry and old City Hall which houses puppets of earlier governors of Sri Lanka.

  • Stop will be made at the Old Dutch hospital with shops and restaurants facing Sri Lanka’s twin tower buildings. Continue to the old race course with a maze of buildings with colonial architecture, restaurants and shopping arcade passing through Colombo City Hall (mini replica of the White House in Washington, DC)

  • Shopping in Colombo

  • Thereafter Proceed to airport with lingering memories of your trip to Sri Lanka
